Our second stop......

We left Rome after two days and headed to the coast, Cinque Terre. It is a group of 5 small villages that are connected by a train, hiking trails, and some salt water. We stayed in Vernazza, the fourth town. We enjoyed the slower pace, the quaint town, hiking, eating some great Pesto (which originated here), relaxation and people watching.

Our second day we hiked from Vernazza to Corniglia to Manarola to Riomaggiore. This is a picture from the hiking trail of Vernazza.

This was the view from our room.

This was a piece of machinery that helps people harvest the grapes on the terraces.

This was our small, quaint room. It was an attic room with no air conditioning. It was not as bad it sounds. We had a fan!

This was our first night in Vernazza. We had dinner at a nice ristorante and had some music accompaniment.
